Financial Aid Opportunities

Individuals accepted for admission to the Four Year Training Program, may apply for financial aid. The application deadline for the 2024 - 2025 academic year is July 1st, 2025. Although you can not apply for financial aid until you are accepted, applicants are strongly advised to prepare a tuition assistance application prior to hearing about acceptance so it can be submitted as soon as you hear. Applications will not be accepted after July 1.

  • Tuition Assistance Scholarship New students accepted to an NIP program, as well as current candidates, may apply for tuition assistance. Awards, which may be full or partial tuition, are based on financial need, the candidate’s program of enrollment, and year of training. The tuition assistance scholarship does not include supervision costs. Candidates must apply for tuition assistance annually.

  • BIPOC Scholarship The scholarship is available to applicants accepted to the Adult Training Program in Psychoanalysis and Comprehensive Psychotherapy, as well as current candidates in the program, who identify as Black, Indigenous, or a Person of Color. The scholarship may cover all or part of the cost of tuition and supervision for one academic year.

  • Jackie Mintz Scholarship The scholarship is awarded by the NIP Professional Association to a candidate in the Adult Training Program in Psychoanalysis and Comprehensive Psychotherapy in their second through fourth year of training. The scholarship covers the cost of tuition for one academic year. Applicants must be in good standing, and concurrently engaged in part or full-time employment to qualify.  

  • Clinical Scholar’s Work-Study Program Candidates in the Adult Training Program in Psychoanalysis and Comprehensive Psychotherapy may apply for a clinical work-study award for their 2nd, 3rd and 4th years of the 4 Year program* The scholarship covers the cost of tuition and supervision and includes free admission to the NIP Annual Conference.

Candidates must meet all academic criteria and perform 15 hours of unremunerated patient work per week in the Treatment Center (seven hours as required by the program, and additional eight hours.) Six of the additional hours are required to be night, weekend, or other “peak hours” as defined by the Treatment Center leadership. Any hours beyond the required 15 will be remunerated at the rate defined by the candidate’s program.

Candidates must apply to the Clinical Scholars program, and be selected by committee. Continuation in the program is contingent on passing twice yearly compliance audits.
