Welcome to Demystifying Psychotherapy!, the National Institute for the Psychotherapies first ever podcast.

Co-hosts are NIP's new Executive Director, Christel MacLean, MBA; and Kenneth A. Frank, PhD, a leading voice in psychotherapy. Join them as they discuss their professional backgrounds and delve into the fascinating world of psychotherapy.

Christel came to the position with a Wharton MBA, a decade on Wall Street, and years working as a serial entrepreneur. Her most recent position was Director of Operations feeding NYC's homeless population. While experienced in running organizations, she has very limited experience in the field of psychotherapy, and as a novice, wanted to learn more.

Enter Ken, who is a certified psychoanalyst and certified in cognitive behavior therapy. He has written over 60 publications and has lectured extensively on this topic. Ken is Co-Founder and Board Director of NIP, and Co-Director of PIP, NIP's Integrative Training Program. He is also a former Clinical Professor in Psychiatry at Columbia University where he also earned his PhD.

Together they will take us on a scintillating ride as they explore the many aspects of the Psychotherapies including Psychoanalytic Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Humanistic Therapy. There will be discussion of what a session looks like "in the room," along with an NIP candidate visit. The season features six episodes of unscripted lively chats which can also be found on Apple Podcasts and other favorite listening sites. We hope you enjoy the podcast and will share it widely with your community!
